James Bond Fundraiser Ball for Combat Stress

Help Paul hit that £5k target!

Come and join us for the Combat Stress Fundraiser Ball at Shottle Hall on Friday 12th October 2018 from 7pm – Midnight. The theme for the night is James Bond, so don your black tie and bring Miss Moneypenny with you!

On arrival, you will receive a drink and have your photo taken by our photographer, Andy of Leading Imagery, in front of our Bond Backdrop. You will then have time to play the casino and enjoy the Magic selfie mirror before sitting down for a 3-course meal, during the meal the wonderful Natalie Nightingale will entertain you with songs from the Bond movies. Once you’re all fed and watered we’ll begin our charity auction and raffle. There are some great prizes from local companies including Hospitality box at the Nottingham Arena, tickets to football matches and haircuts! Throughout the night, DJ Nigel Carter will be playing some classic Bond-themed tunes and rounding the night off with a great party set to get everyone up dancing! There will also be a ‘Donation Station’ to give you the opportunity to donate directly through the JustGiving page.

The aim of the night is to help our MD, Paul, raise £5k for Combat Stress, the UK’s Leading Charity for Veterans Mental Health. There’s a Just Giving page which you can access via this link if you wish to read Paul’s story or make a donation. During the year Paul will be completing various challenges from 2 Duathlons in 2 days to riding 70 miles in a day around the Peak District on a Mountain bike and 105 miles around Nottinghamshire in a day on a road bike. These challenges will all lead up to March 2019, when Paul embarks on a Husky Sledding Challenge, travelling 250 Kilometres across Lapland.

Combat Stress is the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For almost a century, they’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, they provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict. On the phone and online. In the community and at their treatment centres.

Tickets for this amazing night are available now priced at £50 each or a table of 10 for £450. Use the form on this page or call 01246866475 to buy yours. If you’re looking to sponsor the event by the way of an auction prize, advertising in the programme or on the tables then please speak to us on the same number. We’d love to have you onboard.

We really value Paul’s efforts and would like to thank you in advance for helping and supporting him with the number of fundraising events he is participating in. Paul’s support will go a long way in helping our vital work with Veterans and their families.

“If I hadn’t made contact with Combat Stress, I wouldn’t be here now. My kids wouldn’t have a father. When I was given my diagnosis of PTSD, it was such a relief. I knew there was something wrong with me but I’d never heard of PTSD before. It was so nice to know it wasn’t my fault, there was a reason for how I was feeling.”

Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me and donated so far but please keep it coming!

We’re on a mission to raise awareness that invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. So when a veteran is having a tough time, we’re there to help tackle the past and to help them take on the future.
